Was well up for this after spending areasonable amount of time on the bike just lately. got there early (unlike a certain forum member;)) Walked the first part, it got very tight after 500m and so a good start was needed.
got off the line well, was 3rd in the tight bit. got into an early rhythm and made my way through some off the over 40 experts. Was going quite well and felt good, started over taking off the racing line. I started lapping other clubman and after about 2hrs went to go buy two, went to the left as it was quite wide between some fir trees, but only a line down the centre -I went left pinned it went by and as I went to pull back onto the racing line I hit a stump that sent me straight over the handlebars and landed on my back:o My hand caught in guard on right side:rolleyes:
Picked my self up, was in abit of pain, looked at and and it immediatley was swollen:( Someone picked up my bike and clutch reservoir was broke again (only did it last month!).
Limped bike back and came home. First DNF:(

I had a flying pitstop!
Mother called me in at 1:15 when it was empty, entered the pits and i turned bike around straight away so i was nearly pretty much at the exit. Got topped up in a bout 30-45 seconds and was gone again :D

First of all, try using your other hand as it will help build up strength in your arm makign things even for ya riding
Riding wise it was pretty good i think considering my previous day activities, got a bad start as someone decided to jam me between their bike and another persons so i wasn't on the front row:mad: god knows how as i was at the front of the waiting area with you!
Got away, passed a few here n there on the way to the tight bit, two blokes fell off in there so must of lost minute or 2 waiting for them to get up and going again!
Started to get warm at the end of the first lap, and settle in to a decent rythem, was picking off riders and kept a good pace and riding position allday.
Had a bit of a crash just after the first walking pace zone where you went along the woods edge near the fence. Just wound her on a bit to much round the sweeping corner and the back end came round, gripped and shot me into the trees. Neither me or the bike were harmed :D
Last half hour started to feel tired and my throttle hand started stinging, i knew it was blisters that had popped (the first time i have ever got them!)
I felt pretty good on the bike and am just waiting on results now, all in all was a good race for me :xbeer

Don't be silly, these days we have dishwashers :p
Think its due to not riding a lot recently, and doing a 50k mountain bike ride yesterday in wales (or as racersedge likes to call it 'abroad')

Was mega fun though, it was at the afan forest mountain bike park near port talbort.
The trial sure was a leg burner on the big uphills, and the downhills  did it in about 6 1/2 - 7 hours. Well worth doing it if ya into mountain biking :xbeer

After arriving at the venue at 09.30hrs I was a little out of sync with what I was doing, I got everything sorted out in time in the end tho, Having remembered shortly before the start that I had no fuel in the bike things could have turned out worse than they did.
I made an ok start, I tangled with the guy next to me on a TM a little as he didn't find his take off gear first time. Things where also a little tricky as I think I was the only rider in the championship class riding with a speedway tyre :o I had little to no grip on the opening lap and had an "off course" moment adn supon rejoining the track I heard an angry fellow compitior shout something rude at me :o I suppose I did cut him up a little :o Upon the first crossing of the freshly felled tree area I got a rather large branch caught in the back wheel and I had to stop to remove it  I couldn't actually get it out so in the end i choose to just ride on and it dislodged itself. In my hast to catch up I made a few small mistakes and I image I would have ended the first lap at the back of my class,
I pushed hard on lap two and only made one time costing mistake, a stall over a log :o
Still pushing hard on lap three I clipped atree when dating through a very narrow gap, I went down hard  I admit to having a few negitive thoughts after that and consideed calling it a day for a moment, After a getting going again the thoughts subsided and I pressed on at a good pace.
I got passed by a fellow championship rider around lap five and was disapointed that he pulled away from me :( However I stayed strong and caught and passed him back after my second pitstop, And it seemed with ease as I had no return pressure from him.
At the begining of the race I was wimping out of the big og just before the finish, and as the race drew on I starting literally flyin over it, which boosted my confidence.
In the early laps I had a few dabs of my worst foot which were particually un pleasent but a few corners later they where forgotten.
I also pulled some orsum wheelies every lap on the stubble field section :p

I also know the feeling Lewis, I feel I could have got a better result. Although my lap times where fairly consistant and my fastest lap was my last but one which i think is promising.
After looking at the lap times those top boys had a good 1m30s on me after the first lap and Si & McLaughlin also did their quickest times on lap 9 too.
I'll need a little more pace to get up with thwm guys at the next one, mind you there last time I raced, or even rode in anger was December. And like many others I have some blisters and bruises to show for it :o

Went to A&E yesterday as swelling is worse even after icing etc. No breaks just crush injury on tendons etc, they reckon 6-8 weeks:( Possible fracture, but wont show till starts to repair, but no different treatment anyway.
Bugger, next SCEC exactly 8 weeks I think:rolleyes:
