View Full Version : Website - What features?!

Part of the ongoing website development, i thought i'd go straight to the people to use the site.

What would you like to see, or what do you think would be appropriate in terms of content and features on the main site?

The idea at the moment is to make it more dynamic so its not the same old stuff every time you visit (nothing bugs me more). so the front page will feature lastest news/features and lists of the lastest coaching days available and spaces remaining etc...

The usual static information about RacersEdge and Coaching programmes will be on other pages.

any ideas?

what about a track listing like on mxtrax, but using the tracks that coaching is available at?that way you could see what track you would benifit most from?

Thats a good idea....

If paul has a number of set tracks for training, we could do that. Due to the problem at Matchams etc. he's still moving around quite a bit.

yea thats the problem i thought of.the orpa track was ideal for training. when i went down,it was just the right size to make it worthwhile. hopefully with him building a reputation as a good trainer/coach, more tracks will be on a list.

He's got alot of tracks open to him, but some are just crazy money to hire. He definatly doesn't want to pass on those costs to the cutomers, its just too much.

totally agree with him.i know of one track he told me about that was very expensive.

It would be nice to work out some kind of protocol for booking/enquiries . Especially for 1-2-1 coaching sessions.

Gee wee, websites!!!! Though it was gonna be easy now I have Golive but I'm more confused than ever  As for ideas...a good old photo gallery always goes down well ;)

5th April 2006, 08:37 PM
I could never get along with GoLive, i went quickly back to DW8. Saying that, it does make a good job of css div layouts. But i would recommend using tables and images for layout initially. Using Div's can be a nightmare, case study: my post about internet explorer on this forum.

As for the gallery, i have give this some thought and i'm unsure how to impliment it at the moment. Should it be part of the forum or the main site? or should it feature in both and share the images?

Nice one #24, i'll put that in!

Thanks guys, thats really good. Hopefully i'll keep comming back to you for feedback and thoughts while making the new site. You can never have enough constructive critism.

One more question:

What would you like to see on the homepage (first page) of the website.

I personally hate a pet hate of visiting a site with a pointless first page, and it being something you just skip past to get to what you really want. So what would you like to see? the latest forum thread? the latest coaching dates? the latest offers? latest news? lastest rider profiles? or a combination of any of them?

Thanks again.
