Biggest news.....Lewis was riding a 450 ktm:o
Having only rode it for 10mins or so to make sure everything was working....i was quite looking forward to having a change of machinery:xbeer
Practice: The track was wet....and slick. So i my main concern was getting the big weapon around without to many problems...done my 4 laps and had a think as to whether ride the smoker,or 4banger in my qualifying race.
Qualifing: After a chat with Ryan Allens dad,we decided that the condition of the track would favor the 4banger....so i rolled up to the line with that....i felt so relaxed on the line,with the intention of riding the 4laps and not worry where i come,just to get more comfortable on the bike.....1st lap....Ryan was signalling i was in 7th:xbeer Finishe 12th.....and A groups:eek: Only ever got in the A group once before,so i was chuffed:xbeer
Race 1: Got a good jump...but stalled it on the 1st lap,and was quickly passed by the field:rolleyes: decided not to push too hard,and concentrate on riding the 4stroke properly,and i moved up a few places by the end:xbeer
After a 1hr lunch...the sidecars went off...3laps later...red flagged.....another 90mins after,we got going again,and they had decided to finish the 2nd block and call it a day:rolleyes:
Race 2: Got a bad start,and was around the back for 5 laps or so....then i stalled it.ok i thought....push the magic button,and get going again......nothing...:mad: tried bumping it....wouldnt bump start:rolleyes: and with ktms wisdom....they dont include a kickstart on the mx version of the 450:( dnf'd....
After telling dad im not going to keep it....he calmed me down,and investigated what went wrong....looks like the chap we bought it off swapped the battery for a non-genuine one,and something has gone wrong with it....dad was on the phone to him,and he just so happens,has a ktm battery at his house:rolleyes:
Giving it a few more goes before i decide what im doing with it,slightly concerned about only having the button....but we'l see what happens.
Overall.....chuffed to bits with how i rode,and even though i love the smoker,i think my style and how i ride,the 4 poppers are better suited to me:o
and my dad even said 'pleased with how you rode lewis....was expecting to get here and you were back on the 250':xbeer
