Well I so nearly didn't go this morning. I used a positive attitude and made my decesison to go out and do it. When it comes down to it we all have the choice and only we can be responsible for our actions.

As soon as i hit play on my i-pod the bloody thing frooze  so i did my route without the added motivation of mscic. it was actually ok and i think i ran the route in a personal best.

Anyway I'm off to the Apple support website to get this thing reset. :)

I used to be able to run without it, but now i"ve tried it, i dont think i'd be able to push myself as hard without it.
Perfectly timed playlist for a 2 mile run on a treadmill in around 15 mins.
All American Rejects - Dirty Little Secrets is an awesome tune to run to...

i use track lenghts to gage where i should be on route. i've got some old skool rave for the second mile on my route and some offspring to get the third mile done.

I'm the oposite in so much as I'm trying to run with my ipod. The thing I find hard is not being able to concentrate on my rythmn as the music takes over. Some tips for a good run are good route; I sometimes drive out to a nice area and do a few loops, try trail running with some good hills and stuff, and dont be scared to stop and enjoy the scenery. Also start out slow and warm up, a slow start will make a big difference at the end of your run. "The best motivation for running is having a good run".

This time of the year you want to be getting the miles under your belt and speed ins't that important, your building stamina. To improve to peak fitness start hill work, sprints and fartlek training (excuse the expression) that'll really give your lungs a burn and strengthen your legs.

I personally find using different tempo music helpful, although my playlists for running are not 100% accurate on the bpm front, i have some nice slow tracks to get going to a get the synovial fluids working in my joints. and then have some much faster tracks to encourage me to get a nice stride going.

I used to really enjoy planning my spinning class with music matched to the story of the ride. it took time but was very satisfiying. :)

without the i-pod this morning was also nice as it was very mild and I noticed the birds singing, (must be an age thing) it wasn't so dark today either which was nice.

Spinning, now thats a great workout especially with a good coach, and your right the music's an essential part of it.

  always near the end for a t shirt when it becomes a under body armour shirt, just to finish it off it will be a rag in the garage soaked in white spirit :)

i havent been running with my ipod for over a year now,if it doesnt work,i'l do somethin else.
my only problem is,majority of the tracks on mine are either punk or metal,so the tempo is quite fast.i manage to run 4 miles twice a week, but found the best way,is to set my i-pod onto shuffle so i have a mix of fat and slower stuff:lol:

I have just got back from running, and the last week or 2,i'v been suffering with a chesty cough.too said it was hard is a understatement, and to top it off,i went running off road, rather than roads.
