I was speaking to a mate bout it and was going to do it this year, but he warned me not to cos he said i would have a heart attack and wouldnt even consider racing anymore.

i did it for a few weeks at the beginning of the season, and it was mounting up a bit then so i decided not to.
also think i had spent alot of money at the beginning of the season gettin kit and registering for series, which was alot of money before the season started
it would be interesting to see, just so that a budget could be set the next year. then again the amount of spares im going through at the moment in rediculous

I would not like to guess. My tip would be simple: Don't have a fourstroke.
Expensive to run full stop, you lose loads of money on new ones....etc etc in a nutshell, 2 stroke 'till I die!!!

I'm pretty serious about mountain biking and so I thought I was doing myself a favour by calculating the costs. It came to near enough £11k in one year! That was £9k on 4 new bikes and £2k on clothing, travel, helmets and the obligatory once a year trip to the Alps for some proper downhill action. Those are only my costs as the wife also rides bikes so I've actually spent far more than that in a year.
I've taken up motocross to save money!
