Rode at Northchapel today with the old man and a friend.

Track started off very damp and looked like we were headed for a messy day and was'nt feeling too 'Keen' about riding it... How wrong was i?! The track was awesome! Deep ruts, sticky mud and alot of sand had been brought in by the finish which made it far better and enjoyable for all who rode. They ran the usual 3 group's, A, B and C. No Championship classes being run.

Practise got under way around 11ish like usual, decided to go out in the 2nd group to see how the track panned out :o. Crashed twice (same lap) and got abit of arm pump  (Having not riding for 3 weeks and doing no preparation )

Qualifying - 3rd group, got a ok start, finished 5th (i think) and qualified in A.

Race 1 - Started on the outside, top 10 around the 1st few corners, stayed on passing a few rider's and managed to finish around the 6th or 7th mark with arm pump kicking in half way through the race. Was pleased to be in 1 piece and the race was over .

Race 2 - Started outside again, top 5 through the first few corners. Then with a couple of laps to go, got my foot caught in a sticky rut around a fast sweeper, flung me sideways like "buckeroo" and landed like a sack of 'tators. Used all my strength to pick the CRF250 up, started worrying and tipped it over the other side to make the side panels match :rolleyes::o. Finished near last..

Race 3 - Was feeling in the 'zone', got to the line late. Outside line again... 3rd to the 1st corner and stayed there for a couple of laps :) Had a cheeky grin inside of my helmet and rode for my life them first few laps trying to keep with the leaders. Did'nt last long though... Made a few mistakes with a few blasting past me. Finished 5th or 6th.

8th Overall and a great big grin on my face to end the day with. :):)

Good day. :xbeer

Thanks Andy :)

He was going well for a old fella *looks around the room*, was top 10 in the 2 races he'd done, Crashed many times. The ruts and deep mud caught him out abit ... then decided not to do the 3rd..

Im sure he'll post up a report soon ;)

I had a good day too;

the track was pretty messy and typical old school.

i pottered around in practice and qualifying and went out in the `C` group.

i thought i would just enjoy my day and finish at my own pace,a la `hare and the tortoise`.;)

but alas people just seemed to keep falling off right in front of me;it was very one line which was to be expected as it dried out.(very little)

i was near enough last by the time i`d picked her up and got going again, but true to form i picked them off getting up to 7th or 8th in both my races before somebody went down in front of me again.

I didn`t do the 3rd because i could smell the rain coming,i told my lad(old brickies nose;))and low and behold it tipped down and they didn`t score the last race.

i enjoyed my day, like i always tell my lad;me and the bike are in one piece and i`ve sweat enough for my takeaway quota this week.

And Pats new genuine Honda piston and steel valves are working fine.:)

cheers,

Andy.

p.s. see you friday Ady.:xbeer

Horshams great fun, bit of a big bike track, long uphill straights, bit sandy.
