Have'nt posted on here for a 'lil while and seeing as i had one of the most magic/most enjoyable days racing i have ever had! ...I thought i'd post a little report up. :)
This was my 1st race of 2009 too.
The track started off like it ended 2 weeks previously back in 2008... rutty, rough and natural! But this time frozen and solid.
Practise got under way with only 1 session? Or was it 2 and i never pulled in? Anyway... it was very slippery and hard to take them frozen ruts.
Qualifying - First corner i was 3rd and stayed there the whole time until the last lap where i made a few mistakes on them rutted 4 jumps in a row :(. Made it into A :xbeer Was chuffed just to get a good start for once!
Race 1 - Started off the same as Qualifying basically... started top 5, got arm pump half way through and lost some positions. Finished in the top 10.
Race 2 - Once again i got a blistering start on my 250F! Think i was 3rd or 4th and lost a couple positions through that race and a couple going down infront! :D
Race 3 - Had my game face on ;)... Starting next to forum member Brett (Yamaha41) aboard his YZF. 'The elastic pings, the 4 stroke stings' :D 3rd to the corner and staying there until the 3rd lap when 2nd or 3rd placed rider crashed infront of me! Causing me to cross from 1 side of the track to the other goin through them frozen ruts! Lost the rear of the bike going through the straight thats after the 1st corner off the start. Launched off the machine like a crash test dummy face first... Got straight up with bent bars and a bent hand guard and the bike was still running :cool:. Finished 10th.
And earning myself my 1st ever A group trophy with a 6th overall! :D:D:D Shame about race 3, but always look on the bright side... i never got injured :p
A MASSIVE THANKYOU TO ADY!!!! For teaching me how to get good starts after the training day me and dad had with him and Scott Elderfield... and helped me gain confidence at the beginning of a race. :) Sunday showed a instant improvement to my starts and there will be alot more of it to come in the future ;).
Plus thanks to dad for maintaining my bike, taking me to the meeting and supporting me the entire time. :xbeer
