A high percentage of Britains richest people inherited their money and didn't need any qualifications.
A lot of drug dealers are well off - it doesn't mean it is a good career to suggest to our kids.
Just because Branson left school with no qualifications doesn't mean he didn't receive a good education. My dad didn't receive a good education and left school at 14, but now he lives in a property worth around £1m set in 7 acres. He was lucky that he was smart and very hard working (and had some good fortune by being in the right place at the right time).
It doesn't alter the fact that despite what the schools claim literacy and nemeracy is appaling. French, as a subject in school, is becoming a thing of the past as it is just too hard to get a good grade in it. Both schools and pupils don't like having it on the curriculum as it lowers grade averages.
