Oh well he's gone offline... so...

Race 1.
Me Goldentyre hooked up real well and catapulted the FUTURE RACING Suzuki into yet another Holeshot... I came under pressure for the first lap by another UMX regular untill nearing the end of the first lap after coming up through the valley looking across at each other on the mamouth jumps.... I managed to hold the advantage and as we launched off the step down coming back up to the finish line again side by side I held the inside coming into the hairpin and as he yelled at me, put quite simply I just pushed him wide and he stalled....phew... carried onto a comfortable win but got off and couldnt walk...had cramp in both calves...

Race 2.
Start 1 into turn one second outta turn one first.... race stopped...
Re-start... HOLESHOT.. and again intense pressure from the same guy (Martin Cole) he passed me and pulled a small gap... 4 laps in and I closed him down and started applying some serious pressure... he started riding unsettled.. I got past and thought i'd stick in a quick lap to break him... only to stall seconds after regaining the lead... good ol 2 stroke fired up first kick and set off after him once more.. started closing him down and got baulked over the jumps coming up the valley... last lap and a mountain to climb... do or die move to try to close the last few yards down in the last corner, but too little too late..Second

Race3.
Poor start... well by my GOLDENTYRE/FUTURE RACING Suzuki standards.... bout 5th I think..and a shortened race to boot.. still managed to pull up to second and although I was faster I was struggling to find the oppertunity to get past... untill the last but one lap.... and then struck approaching an awsome uphill step up... went on to talk the win and the overall...

Hills....hills like you would not believe for those that have never been there before. Walking the track you approach the top of the decents and you see the bottom of the valley before you see the slope that takes you down.
Since going there in the 90's to watch the Gp's it has been a dream to ride the place and today I got the chance.
Any nervousness was seen off by the excitement of being able to ride the hallowed soil of Foxhills. Practice was short to say the least with only two laps to find you way around.
Into the valley for the first time and memories of Everts and Tortelli come to mind back in the glory days of the Foxhills GP. Through the valley and time to go back up hill before tackling the up and down sections that make Foxhill the track it is.
The first BIG downhill now needs to be dealt with and it's a leap/roll of faith into the abyss...everything is sweet, made it to the bottom then the forst major uphill needs to be conquered and winding the 250 smoker open I was not ready for the fact that once attacking the hill it is so steep that you can't actually see the top as you can't lift you head high enough to spot the lip of the uphill double so it open her up and grit the teeth. Floating onto the crest of the landing an overwhelming feeling of satisfaction is yours as you know that from now on you are going to enjoy every single last second of riding this place.
Winding up and down hill it's back into the valley for some of the most unpredictable jumps I have ever come across, flinging you high but only the better riders and getting the length needed to ensure a smooth landing on the down slope.
Of the three starts I had two decent ones but the first gate drop saw me hit the gate but hey...it was the first time ever I have been in a start scenario using a start gate.
All three races I came in around the 17th position which I am real happy about.
Awesome day, awesome track and just can't wait to do it again
Thanks Ady for gifting me an extra lap in the last race although I neally came a huge cropper but thankfully managed to speedway style it and hold on.
Fookin Milo von Christie.... that a book you just wrote...

Excellent write up fellas and well done - I enjoyed reading that!! Sounds like a cracking day. I've never ridden Foxhill but hope I might be able to now, if the new owners seem to be staging a few meetings there.

Well done once again to both of you though - great stuff

Ady - did you ever race there when they had the downhill start straight in the valley? It was a crazy-fast start then!! I remember Nige doing the British Champs in about 85/86ish and the start being there. Just as well they changed it really!

I really enjoyed riding Foxhills again, I just loved launching off the top of the first "real" downhill, It is one of the best feelings in MX imo.

As for my results, Average is the best way to describe them I think. My bike fitness is at an all time low and my corner speed seems to have gone awol!

I think the track could be made even better by shaping the landings of the jumps coming back up the valley, They are just too short at the moment.

With some many groups to get through in a block the day seemed to drag, I pulled off the track @ 6pm after my third race, and the meeting had got underway @ 9.30am!

mxoldy provided some great action as per normal and well done to Myles for surviving the course and making improvements each time out.

Welcome back Foxhills.
