Default Road Bikes

Not the motorised type, but pedal powered.....

anyone got one,or in that past, used one?im going to buy one very soon as my knees are giving me trouble with too much running.so im planning on 1 run weekly, then 1 or 2 cycles.

how bloody expensive are they though

I have a bike, my sister and my borther in law race them, what did you need to know...

I cycled to work this morning in fact. Bit hot for it at the moment but its all good for the race fitness.

If you only want a bike for the road you can get them pretty cheap.
If you want to take it off road then you'll need a proper bike which are a bit dearer.

Where are you intending to go.

me and dad went down to a triathlon shop in yeovil and had a look.not many cheap bikes, but the quality of some is unreal.i know what money i can spend on one,as i wouldnt mind doing a few races once i get the hang of it.

not sure if your company are enrolled in the scheme carl, but the cycle 2 work scheme is very good.my supervisor's cousin bought a bike for 'getting to work'.....and it worked out he had a 30% discount! the company buys the bike for you,you pay off monthly instalments in your wages, then after a year, the bike is yours

copy that Carl. I fancy a road bike to come to work on & the Halfords/Bikehut ones look like pretty good value for money.

I've got a TREK 1500
( shimano ultegra triple ) for on the road , and I just got a new MTB since last week , a CUBE REACTION K18 .
http://www.cube-bikes.de/xist4c/web/..._id_21015_.htm
Went on the Cube yesterday to Lommel to watch the GP track , and I could cycle on the track . Who said that Lommel sand is rough to ride .

About the road bikes , pay attention on wich size you need .
We've got an ' older ' man a few minutes from here , and he's awesome in preparing the bicycle to your body .
http://www.meetcentrum.be/joomla/ind...emid=1&lang=EN
His clients are perhaps TDF cyclers . And I must say , it makes a big difference after he changed my bike . Now I can cycle without feeling pain everywhere

I got a bargain last year. Went into the shop and asked what the guy would do me an 07 bike for as the 08's were just on the way in...got a £500 bike for £400. Not used it yet though
