What is it?
This is something we've made happen in the last 24hrs for the supercross fan. It is a completely free online betting system, it allows you to place bets on various Supercross events throughout the 2007 AMA Supercross/ Lites series. It follows the same format as a betting shop, where odds are placed and you are invited to bet your 'virtual cash' or 'vCash' as we call it.
How does it work?
Its simple! just sign up for a
RacersEdge forum account (its free) so we can log your bets, and you will be given £100 in 'Virtual Cash' automatically. You are then free to bet on as many or as few events as you like throughout the 2007 season. We will place up various available bets at different odds, and you can pick and choose to try your luck.
Whats in it for me?
Fun!You will also have bragging rights within the mx/sx community if you make lots of 'vCash'. We will try to track down a prize for the person with the most 'vCash' at the end of the supercross series, but as this is so last minute, its not been organized yet!
Whats in it for us?
Nothing, we're just doing it for a laugh, because we love to bench race. We won't pass on your email address, spam you, try to sell you something, its totally free.
The rules?
This is very much an experimental project, so we're not guaranteeing everything will work flawlessly. The idea was only conceived yesterday, and the object was just to have fun. Therefore, if any problem arise with the booking system, we will just hand out the prize randomly to those who took part.
Similarly if there is a tie at the end of the season, we shall randomly select a winner from those people.
You can enter as many or as few events as you like
You will be permitted to enter the betting system right up to the last race
The odds work the same as any bookies
You cannot retract or change a bid once its made (we can't either, so be careful)
A new member will start with $100 'vCash'
Will will replenish your account with $100 'vCash' if you should fall below. Just to keep you in the game. This allows new players to join fairly all the time and for people to be active the entire year! Its also a way for us to stop people having several accounts, purely to start again. Just view it as a nominal starting point. The aim is to get as much cash as you can.
In the worse case scenario, we may be forced to cancel the whole thing, hopefully it won't be the case, but as you can imagine after only conceving the idea yesterday, its been a bit of a rush and next to no planning
