Social RideDay 2008. The day.

Forum Friends, The RacersEdge RideDay is nearly upon us. I'm sure your are looking forward to having a fun & friendly day at Cusses Gorse. Below is a rough timetable of the day [Subject to change, of course!]

I would suggest you aim to arrive around 9am, I understand and appricate that some people will have quite a journey to be with us.

I will start the Welcome & safety brief @ 09.45

We can take to the track @ 10.00am

I will be setting up and running Bleep test for those interested!

Lunch will be at apx 12.45

Les "50laps" Smith will drop down to "1LAP" for charity & the fantastic prize of VIP MXoN tickets @ around 13.00

The fun race [Motocross of Regions. teams will be posted soon] will follow at whatever time Les finishes, assuming it's before dark!

Then we'll continue with free practice untill 16.00

Also I may be bringing my own special guest with me. Been to see our Nige in hospital today (chemo again) and told him about the Track Day - he wants to come down, so I may well be coming down with him and my dad

Not 100% yet though - see how he feels after the chemo session, cos he's usually not too great for a week or after so it might just end up being me.

I thought you'd like the bleep test, I felt it would add a training related element to the day. I'm hoping to organise some form of prize for the highest achiever

The MXoR will be ran after lunch as a relay race with teams of 5 riders. No prizes for this only forum bragging rights. The format will be the same as last year with the teams being made up of 5 riders each to do one lap. At each change over a hi vis jacket will need to be swapped to the next rider. the winning team is the team that completes the 5 laps first. WITHOUT breaking any rules!

Now some of the +1's that forum members have been left of the list, these rider can be reserves/fill in's if anybody really wants to sit the FUN race out.

I have made the teams as regional as possible. I know that they are not perfect and I'm making no appology for that, it is a FUN race after all

I have arranged for some top celebrities to be joining us Friday... most however have declined the festivities of the evening... bloody lightweights i say...

Two have so far confirmed and i'm waiting on the other two at the moment...

Any guess's as to who they might be....
